It offers a relaxed, homely environment, a separate sleep area, dedicated milk and food preparation rooms, and a minimum ratio of one member of staff to three babies.
A gentle start to nursery life
Starting nursery is a big step for babies and parents alike. The Caterpillars play room is designed to feel calm and homely, easing the transition from home to nursery so your baby feels safe, secure and ready to explore. A separate sleep area gives little ones a quiet space to rest, so each child can follow their own individual routine.
Learning happens through interaction and exploration, and our approach is aligned with the Early Years framework. We keep achievement records for every child, complete with photos and artwork, so you can look back on the milestones as they grow. Learning through play and exploration
Babies learn best through their senses, so Caterpillars offers imaginative, messy, sensory, small world and physical play areas that invite little ones to reach, touch, taste and discover. We include heuristic play, giving children everyday objects to explore freely, which develops their imagination through interaction and curiosity.
Fresh air and movement matter too. Children in Caterpillars enjoy our indoor and outdoor play areas, known as The Pods, where they can move, crawl and play in a safe and stimulating space.

Feeding, weaning and daily communication
Every baby has their own feeding routine, so Caterpillars has a separate milk prep room and a purpose-built food preparation area to accommodate individual needs. When your child is ready, we introduce weaning collaboratively with parents, so mealtimes at nursery mirror the approach you take at home.
